TriWest Healthcare Alliance is contracted with the U.S. Department of Defense for
the administration of the TRICARE program in the West Region. The TRICARE program
is a managed health care program for active duty and retired members of the military,
as well as their eligible dependents. TriWest subcontracts provider network development
to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) for providers in Arizona.
To participate in the TRICARE program, providers must contract for TRICARE separately
than for BCBSAZ business. BCBSAZ is responsible for contracting and servicing providers
for the TRICARE program. Information regarding contracting can be found at www.azblue.com/Providers.aspx.
